DFA Gone Astray?

When Howard Dean ran for President he invited "All Americans regardless of party to join this campaign" to take this country back. It disturbs me greatly that DFA2 has seen it necessary to become an appendage of the Democratic Party.

The second sentence of the About Democracy For America statements on the website reads: "DFA has a long-term goal to rebuild the Democratic Party from the bottom up..."

Granted, Democrats are far more likely to represent the ideals of the average person in this country, than Republicans, who seem pretty much required to sell out a prerequisite of joining the party. But Democrats, as we found out in the Iowa Caucuses of 2004, are not without their own traitorous side.

This Democrat thing may seem like small potatoes, but what if we get a person like Bernie Sanders running as an independent who more aptly represents the ideas we seek? Should we still side with the Democrat who may be sold-out to the big pharma or some other multi-national?

I'm really disappointed that we don't leave the proverbial door open to the candidate who might not be a card-carrying Democrat, but a canididate who more aptly represents the ideals that make America great.

I wish DFA would reconsider.
